Exclamation Starting/Draining/Charging Issues

I have a 97 blazer ls 4 door 4x4. I recently got a new battery that was working fine, but I didn't drive it for maybe 4 days, and now its dead. I tried jumping it and the lights, dashlights, and radio all worked fine(nothing was dim). I tried starting it and nothing happens. It just clicks. As soon as I take the jumper cables off everything loses power within a couple minutes. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Starting/Draining/Charging Issues

Was the engine running on the other vehicle while the jumper cables were connected? How long did you keep the jumper cables connected? Have you checked and cleaned both ends of both battery cables?

I had the other car running, I had the jumper cables connected, and the battery cables were clean.

Re: Starting/Draining/Charging Issues

The "clicking" you heard, was it from the starter area, or from the underhood fuse panel? Was it one click each time you turned the key, or was it a rapid clicking sound? If it was rapid, remove all four of the cable connections and clean them with a wire brush and then tighten them securely. Post your results.

Sounds like it could be your altenator, I would take it out and bring it in to a schucks or checker depending on your area and have them test it.

Re: Starting/Draining/Charging Issues

Alright, I found out a fully dead battery cant be jumped. I didn't know that before. Anyway I borrowed a battery charger and was using that to start it when I needed it and was going to take it to someone who could help me with it, but I had to pay bills and couldnt afford to do anything.

A few more details:
The clock never turns off, until the car dies.
All the interior lights stay on so I removed that fuse. Which
is also the fuse that allowed me to open the rear hatch.

I don't think this part of the same problem, but I thought I would ask anyway.
The last few times I started it, it would kinda stall out and would barely move when starting to drive but after I drive a couple houses down it kicks in and drives fine. I start to hear fluids moving around under the hood when this happens. At first I thought it was a jug of water I keep in the back. haha. Does that sound like fuel filter/pump problem? any help appreciated.
