1993 Ranger apparent brake issue.
Drove the truck and everything seemed fine. Couple weeks later, I moved the truck and engaged the parking brake. When I went to move the truck back (forward) it would not budge.
At first, I thought it was the transmission so I checked the fluids and replaced as necessary. Then I tried going forward again and noticed that it moves exactly how a car would if you have the brakes pressed down while applying the gas. I engaged and un-engaged the emergency brake a few times but that didn't help. So I'm thinking that I have a brake caliper stuck or the emergency brake is stuck. Only thing is, the truck moves in reverse without any resistance like normal. Brake fluid is good, and seems normal. Can anybody help or point me in some directions? |

Nevermind.
I jacked up the rear, removed left tire, beat the hell out of the drum housing with a hammer. Problem solved. |
