Daytime Running Lights

I have a '98 Tahoe. I've seen far newer trucks without lights on during the day, so I know there is a way to bypass the DRL system. How do you do it? I'm surprised that there is no option to turn them off. I find them very annoying, not to mention the fact that I don't need the draining of the battery. Thanks.

Pull the fuse. I think it controls DLRs and fog lights.

2002 Tahoe

Underhood fuse box: fuse marked IGN E controls the A/C compressor relay, the rear window defogger, Daytime Running Lamps and A.I.R. systems.
