'02 Eddie Bauer 5.4 smelling gas while driving.
Not all the time though, while on expressway nothing, and engine runs smooth all the time. Seems like in town driving does it,at lower speeds. Any tips? nothing dripping down.

Re: '02 Eddie Bauer 5.4 smelling gas while driving.
It's possible possible the charcoal cannister under the hood is leaking fumes. It absorbs fumes from the tank and then routes them to the intake to be ignited. Check the rubber hoses on the cannister from the tank and to the intake. If any need replaced do it with fuel line hoses of the proper diameter.
Overall, I would check all the fuel connections under the hood. Probably is a leak close to a clamp. |
