97 Olds Silhouette power sliding door won't open
I've performed Diagnostic Mode 1, and it gives the 12 code (no errors). Problem is, it doesn't open. It doesn't open with either button. And it doesn't open with the inside or outside manual pulls.
It acts like it doesn't unlock. But it won't unlock with either the electronic locks, key lock, or key FOB. I'm at a loss. Can anyone help? |

Sounds like you are right, it is not unlocking. You will have to see if you can get the door panel off and try to manually unlock it.

Re: 97 Olds Silhouette power sliding door won't open
it probably was dirty contacts on the doorjam panel or the prongs on the door. could have been the lock actuator in the door.maybe a loose wire in the passenger floorboard

Re: 97 Olds Silhouette power sliding door won't open
I'll bet the child proof lever lock on the sliding door is set to 'lock' and that's why the door won't open.
It's a safety feature used to prevent children from opening the door while the vehicle is in motion. I have a '00 Silo and have used the lock myself just to see that it actually worked.
