1996 88 barely runs rough idle

i was driving down the road the other day and i noticed that i had no life in my accelerator pulled over and my motor sputters and dies. get it started back up again and she will do maybe 25 tops just running really rough. pull over and now she wont start, all i hear is the motor suckin for air like the intake is wide open. When it will run blows white smoke, then dies. Is this a mass air flow problem??? Any help in the right direction would be appreciated, thank you.

Many things can cause this, could be a major vacuum leak, based on the noise you describe, the white smoke can be caused by the common intake manifold issues with the 3800, pull the plugs see if they are coolant soaked, also are you missing coolant, any coolant in the oil also. Do not try to run the engine like this.
