ihi turbo install

I am looking at getting an ihi/borg warner hybrid (similar to t3/t4) turbo for my 2g eclipse turbo. Does anyone know the cheapest way to set this up? I plan on keeping my stock exhaust manifold until I save some more money.

From what I've heard, the spool up on t3/t4 is much better than a 16g. Has anyone else heard different?

Yea you could get a adapter plate, but then you would have to worry about the turbo moving out of alinement. Hahn Racecraft sell the plates for pretty cheap buti would just get a garrett/mitsu hybid. The spool up can be better, but not if you plan on making a lot of power. Depending on the power you want Id just go with a big16b or a t-28 for ease of installation.

what kind of power should I expect to get from a t28? I have heard anywhere from 300 to 360 HP.

Power should be about that of a 16g so about 340 range. There are also big t-28s and t-28 killers that would put now up to that 360.

Just save up a little more and buy a turbo that will have more top end flow.

No offense to Spectrum but I ended up going with the t3/t4 (got a real good deal and warranty). What is it you were saying about moving out of alignment. Do you mean that I have to be sure that the flange is aligned approriately or what? Also what do you think would be a safe boost level prior to getting an afc and aftermarket injectors. I am trying to save up a little for 660cc (I hear they idle better). Also have a 255hp walbro on my car.

Also thought about running a line from from my ac condenser to my intake (not sure where yet) to cool the air a lot. that would give me some mega-horsies i would think. Let me know what you think.

Just wanted to add that I am not looking to get HUGE top end flow out of my car. I won't be going to the track I just want a bad a$$ street car.
