mount locations 99 Cougar 2.5L
I am working on a 99 Mecury Cougar 2.5L, it's a friends car whenever he puts it into reverse you can hear the exhaust slam into the floor of the car. He had to have the flexpipe replaced and they said they would not warranty the work because there is a mount missing and it would break again. Well the front Torque Mount (Roll Resistor) was shot and needed replaced, the motor and tranny mounts seem fine though, and I replaced it and this helped alot you cannot move the engine back and forth now by hand like before but the exhaust still slams into the car when you put it in reverse.
Now from everything I have read there should be 2 torque mounts (Roll resistors) 1 in the front of the engine (which I replaced) and 1 in the back well where is the one in the back located at? I do not see any mount at all.

Re: mount locations 99 Cougar 2.5L
Should be located right behind the gearbox.

Re: mount locations 99 Cougar 2.5L
and where does it mount to.
There is no motor mount or bushing or anything then I think I see where it is suppose to be. the transmission has to ears sticking out where it looks like something is suppose to bolt onto it and I would assume the other part would get bolted to the crossmember for the rack and pinion?
