1995 G20 Trans Issues
The starter on my 1995 G20 quit the van got towed without my knowledge, we put the new starter on and now when we put the vehicle in drive it will not go over 10 mph and the abs light is now on also. i can start in nuetral and put it in first on the colum and then into second and then it shifts into neutral again. Someone has suggested that the linkige might be screwed up and the local trans shop wants at least $250 just to open her up Can anyone help me here?

Re: 1995 G20 Trans Issues
Welcome to AF.
How far was it towed. Was it towed with rear wheels on the ground without axels or driveshaft removed? Who ever towed is liabale for damage if it was not towed right?

Re: 1995 G20 Trans Issues
it was towed id say approx 20-25 miles and i wasnt there when it got taken so im not sure how they took it but when they dropped it off at my house. they had a flat bed. its been prolly 8-9 months since that happened and i figured they screwed something up but i couldnt prove it.

A flat bed should not have hurt transmission.
First thing check fluid level and if OK get it on a transmisson capable scanner and check out transmisson. Do you have any check engine lights on?

Re: 1995 G20 Trans Issues
no, no check engine lights are on but the abs light did show up we figured that was a dummy light or something.

Re: 1995 G20 Trans Issues
You need a good engine /transmission capable scanner to read out VCM and check it out.
The ABS lightis not a dummy light. If it is on you have a problem. But you need a ABS capable scanner to get the code at the time the light is on. When light comes on check it out before turning key off. A lot of times when you turn key off ABS codes will clear. MT
