2003 Grand Prix Security Light
2003 Grand Prix 3.1L:
Security light flashes constantly. Vehicle runs fine. There is a "hardware store" key, not a GM key... no chip. Does the 03 require a passlock key? Is there a reprogram for the security system? |

I just got my GP & it uses the passkey. Nice to know it works with a normal key. |

Re: 2003 Grand Prix Security Light
yes, the gp's require a passkey!!!!! Dont keep using that hardware store key. It will leave you stranded.
I played around with mine one day, and found out that if I unlock the doors with the key fob then it will start with a "hardware store key" and the security light will flash. However if you lock the doors with a key fob, then unlock it and attempt to start it with the hardware store key, the car will start and die a second later. I assume you keep unlocking your doors with a key fob. Your gonna be stranded when the battery in it dies. Get a PK3 cut. I ordered a spair from streetkeys.com. 14 shipped and free to get cut. Workes well and was easy to program. They sent instructions. Play around with your car like I said. Bet you can make it die with that key.
