93 Taurus Shifting Problems
Hi, I own a 93 Taurus, and recently i've been having shifting problems. My car (automatic) will startup fine, but after travelling approximately 10 - 15 feet, it will shift into neutral, and will not allow me to shift into any gear. I put the car back in park, turn it off, turn it on again, and once again i can travel 10 - 15 feet and back to neutral it goes. The engine has a lot of clicks on it, and wondering if the tranny is gone or whether this is repairable or if the tranny needs to be replaced.

Re: 93 Taurus Shifting Problems
I assume you've checked the fluid level.
Have you checked the transmission pump pressure? If you have pump pressure, your transmission may have developed the dreaded forward piston seal failure resulting in no forward or reverse movement. If so, you'll need a rebuild. |
