More often than not, under normal acceleration, more noticable when engine cold, I experience a hard shift from 1st to 2nd. Car has 4800 miles. Had at the dealer at 3500 miles for an oil change, they said the trans is shifting normal. Any ideas/suggestions?

Re: 06 mazda 6 hard shifting from 1st to 2nd
You know I notice this to, you really have to get it just right or else it won't do it smoothly first to second. Though at higher RPM for me ( 5k+) it shifts smooth almost every time. What usually works for me is, when your shifting give it an extra second to drop a lil RPM when shifting at like 3k RPM and under, seems to make it smoother. ( don't really know why was just playin around with it and found it out)

Some vehicles may exhibit 1st - 2nd shift shock under light to medium acceleration when engine temperature is cold or during warm-up. The TCM logic has been revised to correct this concern. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Reboot the WDS PTU to clear memory before reprogramming. 2. Using WDS B37.3 P5 or later software, reprogram the TCM to the latest calibration (refer to "Calibration Information" table) by following the "Module Reprogramming" procedure. |
