01 fuel problems
Has anyone changed the fuel pump on an 01 neon. I have been having problems with acceleration, everytime i get on the car, it lags and backfires at about half throttle. I am guessing the car isnt getting enough fuel. Also, i was told that the 01's fuel filter was part of the fuel pump. Is this true and do i need to replace the the whole pump. thanks

The filter is part of the pump. I haven't changed one on a 2nd gen neon, but it does involve dropping the tank. You can check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail to see if its getting enough.
You might want to check your spark plugs also.

i'd also check fuel pressure if you have a autozone or advanced around your area they can check it for you..and yes the filter gose with the pump..good luck.....
