Not your everyday '97 SVT Mustang Cobra

Well, here's my WIP on a '97 Cobra Stang
Almost done, but not quite

Little story to why its the way it is: I was cleaning the house and found this kit under the bed and was like "sweet, i forgot i had this". Then opened it and saw the entire roof and pillars hacked off and not in box and the body sprayed randomly. I must of been really bored one day a long time ago. Anyway, so i decided, why not, I havent done a model in a while, but didnt want to spend any money. So what you see, including paint and all(.99 at walmart) was all left over from whatever.

How it currently sits........ Not done yet, almost

Without body

Goals:
-make missing roof and pillars workable
-make some sort of cage(really the reason why i did this, melting trees was fun, hehe)
-two very large turbos
-detail or realism not really important(ie: some actual piping, few fuel lines here and there, etc.)
-look halfway cool

Inspiration:
Kinda like 10.5 dragsters

So...... A few shots of how I got to where i am

Interior and cage ready for some paint(yes thats how the body was when i opened the box)

Various cage pics, and points to where i heated trees

No pics of engine mach-up, but after most was painted and various wheels

Undershot, basically wanted to make colorful underbody, so grabbed a sharpie and colored randomly.

Body on, almost done

Little idea to finish: make L pipe from turbo intake and drill holes in the headlights, kinda like headlight velicity stack

And back to this, how it is right now

Time so far - 2 weeks on an off, mostly off

So whats left: paint hood, radiator, intercooler, intake thingy, intake arm from intercooler to tb w/ bov, and whatever else.

Sorry if so many pic, tell me what you guys think. Ideas would be great.
Next time posting will probably be in the completed forum,
Thanks for looking

Where are you going to put the intercooler. Inside the front bumper?

With the oversized turbos and roll bars, the car looks cartoony.

Just my opinion, however.

Re: Not your everyday '97 SVT Mustang Cobra

Yea i guess it does look a little goofy, but heh, it is what it is. I guess i never really noticed how big the turbos are until actually looking at the pics, but this is where some of the inspiration came from....

So not totally rediculous. Anywho, to answer Jurva, probably yea in the usual spot. Ive seen some done with piping into the cabin w/ the intercooler as the passenger seat, but i think that looks rediculous, heh

Re: Not your everyday '97 SVT Mustang Cobra

maybe some larger exhaust piping would look better?
