Toyota take over?

With the big three american car companies losing all kinds of money every year there is talk of Toyota taking over as number one. If they did replace GM as the number auto maker, would they be able to keep up? I mean GM not only builds cars and light trucks, but they also build buses, U-Hauls, Box-Vans, and more. Or do you think they would just buy GM out and continue building these vehicles as GM's?

Re: Toyota take over?

There is no way Toyota would even be able to buy out GM.
GM recently is turning out profits also.

Re: Toyota take over?

Although Toyota has become large enough to produce vehicles at the same rate as GM they have been getting more and more recalls also. Toyota would have to leterally be more than 10 time the size of GM to buy them out. Think about it GM has been the largest in Auto company in the world for 75 years and with Ford having their problems in the past GM never bought Ford out. So, no Toyota won't buy GM out. Right now Toyota needs to focus on regaining the quality it lost during their rise to the top. Just read most of the reviews out there about Toyota. The reviews are good but the also state the quality Toyota is known for is now questionable. Toyota is even losing to GM in those reviews as far as quality goes any way.
