95 transport rad.
Anybody know the configuration of the transmission cooler lines that go into the rad? What I have now is two lines leaving the tranny on is going to the left of the rad and the other to the right..then I got another 3/8 tube that goes from left to right on the rad... I dont' see it doing anything... my question is 'is it really needed..or is it there for some option my van never had?

the configuration
Trans oil is going from the trans into one end of the radiator, going via the 3/8 cross tube into the other end of the radiator and then back to the trans. Cutting any tube will make you loose all trans oil, and if you cut and plug any tube, you will loose all coling of trans oil.
GM has not put anything into your car that it does not need. |

Re: 95 transport rad.
THis description is right. HOwever I see various setups are used for the two coolers installed one in each end tank: in fact some radiators have only one cooler (mine, for example; ..and in Chicoutimi, I feel I'm ok with one..and this winter, it has been really cold, I think I'd have managed without....) used for the transmission. IN that case both transmission llnes are on one side of radiator. IN other cases, one cooler is used for engine oil, the other for transmission oil. ANd in your case, both are used in series for the transmission.

Re: 95 transport rad.
Thanks guys.... I just had to change them all cause they were corroded...
Anybody know if the large 'nut' that 3/8 flared transmission line goes through is removable? Mine has a slight leak on it...and I was wondering if I can remove it and seal it.
