Tamiya 1/12 scale Mini Cooper

Hi there,

I started to build this model a few weeks ago, and thought I would try a WIP. This is my first WIP, so any constructive criticism is welcome.

This kit was picked up of eBay for about £30 including shiping.

The colour is Rover metalic 'British Racing Green'. More updates will follow soon.

Regards,
Matt H

Re: Tamiya 1/12 scale Mini Cooper

More Updates,

Completed the front seats, and the wheels.

The Red piping on the seats is very difficult to paint in. This took me a while, but I'm still not satisfied so I might have to re-paint it.

The wheels were already chrome, but didn't look quite right so I painted them flat aluminium, which gives them a nice satin finish.

Any comments?

Looks good so far........recently saw a thread where red piping was recreated by using red stretched sprue...admittedly it was 1/24, but you might wanna give it a try....sorry dont know where I saw it, but I think it was on thius forum!

Thanks for the link. That stretched sprue idea is brilliant, and should give a nice clean look to the seats.

I have been really busy at the moment, and haven't made much progress, but did polish the paintwork. I will post the pictures sometime in the next few days.
