kia clarus 2ltr gsx 2000

i have recently brought a kia clarus 2ltr gsx executive, and the engine check light on the engine managment has come on. the car has done 51,000 miles from new. does anyone know if its come on as it hasnt had its 50,000 mile service? also the abs light has come on, i recently had the breaks checked, has it come on as there is a problem with the breaks or has the person who did the breaks knocked a sensor??
i'd appreciate any help on the above matters, thanks.
