Questions, can you help?

Hi Everyone, I have a 1995 740il (almost bought the 750 but decided to keep the 740) and when I reset the computer the car runs really good. It accelerates great and give me some what good mpg (lot of stop and go- 14-15mpg). But after 2-3 days the car gets really sluggish and fid myself pushing the pedal more and more for the car to move. So the mpg goes down to 9-10mpg.

I reset the computer again and she drifts really good for the 2-3 daays and starts all over again with the "heavyness" feel to it and have to give more gas....... Why does this happen and if I chage lets say all the air sensors would this keep the car running likethe first day I reset the computer?

I have complete tune-up, new magnaflow cats, o2 sensors, new mass air meter bosh brand, fuel filter new same as fuel pump.

I was thinking that maybe the cars trans is worn out for the milage and does not flow as it should? I have 126000 miles and car runs great when I reset the computer by disconnecting the wires and touching them for 20 or so minutes.

Also, would a change of trans fluid help this 95 or just leave it alone?
I have more questions but I will wait till this hopefully gets answered.

Thank you guys/girls

Re: Questions, can you help?

You need to get her coded and do it when she is in the low power mode, not after a computer reset.

Stomp test does not always work. Go to an Independent Tech or maybe Auto Zone (they scan free, check and see if they can do your car) and get her professionally checked.

Re: Questions, can you help?

Well, the 95 does not qualify for that with autozone due to the year.
But glad to know the stomp test does not always work. Will have it checked pro.

Thx
