Question Speaker Wiring

Any one know the color combinations on the 2002 xterra xe factory stereo? I am installing a basslink this weekend and need to know which of these wires I need to patch into to make this unit work. havne' decided if I will use rca converters or speaker level imput option. Any help is appreciated.

If I were doing it, I'd just tap into the rear speaker wires. Make it easy on yourself and pull the panels out, get a line tap and you'll be set in a few short minutes. I did something similar on Mudphud's truck when I installed a 12" sub and amp in his trunk. Hooked the rear speakers to the high-level inputs on the amp and away he went, thumping noisily down the road...

Sounds Good........... This bass link takes a lot fo different configurations and one of them is just that........ using two sets of speakers, either front or rear. I am mounting the bass conrol in the dash and need to remove the panel, Either way, I think everything should be ok, but one more question. I asume that I will not need the amp remote if I use the speaker level in, or do I? I have installed after market stero's which are high quailty products, just never have messed with the stock stereos much.

Thanks

I tapped into the cigarette/powersocket for the remote turn on. The stock radio (assuming that's what you're using) doesn't have a remote wire coming out of it, so you'll need to improvise. Make SURE you pick a socket that is only on with the ignition! I dunno which ones, but one or two of them is always-on, not good.

I think what he was reffering to is that some components will automaticly come on and off by monitoring the speaker level inputs (just but looking for a signal). If that unit does that, then you may not need to worry about splicing into a remote/accessory wire.
