squealing screeching

I'am getting this from my drivebelt side of 95 sable wagon. It seems to do it when I turn or when I rev it......sometimes.. It can become quite loud at times. It started about a day ago and appears to be getting more frequent.I was just wondering if it was the belt going or possibly something else? Wouldn't be the timming chain would it? Seems to be coming from around the timming cover area ..I think...thankful for any thoughts on this!! ps. all the fluids are o.k ..more info;it doesn't seem to do it when I'am parked, but when I'am driving it howls along with my increased accleration and decreases when I ease up....nothing to do with cornering either as far as I can tell...

Re: squealing screeching

Belt or a bearing for one of the pulleys.

Re: squealing screeching

Most probably the belt since a bearing would most likely also make noise at standstill. Increased load on the belt when driving could be making it slip and it will not last very long due to heat generated by friction, if it is the belt.
