What is holding the front bumper on?
The reason I ask this is because I did find out how well the Trailblazer does off road yesterday (great by the way!!!).
But, I did get stuck in a "soup hole", with the front left wheel about 16 inches deep in mud, (not to worry, I won't go off road without another 4x4 as an assist) and now my bumper is sort of shaky. I did notice that the little plug type clips are very loose and won't stay in, so I'm going to get new ones of those, but is there anything else that I should be worried about? The rods at the ends of the bumper are still attached. Thanks! |

ok, good!!! Yeah, those clips are crap, I was thinking about putting a nut and bolt combo in there.

Re: What is holding the front bumper on?
I recently had to take the front end of a trailblazer apart where I work to put a baseplate for towing it behine a motor home on.. here are the directions that tell you what to take off to remove the front bumper cover and you will see how poorly they do have it attached....

Re: What is holding the front bumper on?
Yeah, it's held on pretty crappily, it would shake beforehand, and after that slight incident off road it got worse...
My solution was (2) 3/8"x1" bolts, (4) 3/8" washers, and (2) 3/8" nuts. I put those in place of the two outer plug fasteners not realizing there were two more behind the license plate mount, but it's ok, that bumper is not moving AT ALL!!! |

I Zip Tied mine on. I thought of the nut & bolt route also, but felt if it needed to move, the ties would break, hopefully, before the cover itself..
