I gots a Supercharger question!!!

The Jackson Racing kits for any of the Honda/Acura engines comes with an Eaton Supercharger model 45 which is the smallest sc that Eaton produces. Now would it be possible to use the model 62 supercharger instead of the model 45? The model 62 puts out about 50% more displacement than the model 45. Would this bigger sc fit in the same space the model 45 once filled? or would it be impossible? I am thinking i might need to get a bigger throttle body and/if a new intake manifold or just bore so the bigger throttle body can fit? If i do get both a larger throttle body and a new intake manifold i would need to port fit them so they fit together smoothly and air flow would not be disrupted correct? Sport COmpact Car did this whole process with their project Miata in their April 2002 issue. They put the bigger model 62 sc in place of the smaller medol 45 and they hooked it up to an intercooler. Would i need to hook up an intercooler if i got the bigger sc??? Well any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

go to eatons site they have schematics of the blowers. the 62 is bigger then the 45. i have seen them both with my eyes.

just get the kit for your car, its plenty able to flow enough for your motor.

I know that the JRSC kit is more than able to flow enough air into my car but i am not looking for just a 60-70hp gain, i am looking for more than that, and i wont be able to achieve that with the model 45 sc. I know that the JRSC kit runs at like 8psi of boost. I was wondering, would there be any other way for me to up that boost so i could make like 90-100hp? Sport Compact Car did it with the Miata, they put a model 62 sc in place of the model 45 and it worked great. Could i not do the same with any other honda/acura motor that has a JRSC kit? Oh and by the way how much HP do you get for every PSI of boost on a supercharger?

there is a lot easier of a way to up the boost, change the pulley on the charger. only problem is the heat. so yeah maybe a bigger blower would be called for although i couldnt say for sure where to draw the line in determining it.

the only problem i could forsee is overall blower size and space available. i know the m62 barely fits on the prelude, anything bigger and it wouldnt. i cant say much for the civic as i have only seen a few but since the blower mounts underneath the manifold you have more space to work with. as for actual blower fitament i dont know if the 45 has a smaller flange the the 62, thats something eaton would have to answer for you. if it did then you would need to have an adapter plate cnc'd to mate the bigger blower to the smaller blowers intake manifold.

as for how much hp per pound of boost. if anyone answers that for you they dont know what they are talking about. its not like a universal law when figuring it out. efficiency, tuning, displacement, compression and many many more things play an overall part in how much power 1psi will make on any given motor.

damn right..i hear people saynig for every 1psi you boost on a B18C1, you gain about 10hp at the crank
