Okay, my security light constantly (almost every night I work) comes on and my car won't start. Well, I was reluctant enough to find a post about it, so I leave the car off but in the run position for ten minutes and then off for 15 seconds, walla, it works! Till the next day that is, so then I read later in the same post to do it three times in a row and it should reset the computer. Well that worked for about a week. I thought maybe I did something wrong so I tried to do again, then again, and again! Still it seems to come back on and keep me waiting for ten minutes before I want to go somewhere! Please Help me!!!
By the way it is a '01 SE 2.4L |

Re: Security!?!?!?!
GAs do seem to be good about this, maybe thats why they discontinued the GA.
![]() Make sure your key is clean so the contacts in the ignition lock cylinder can read it. Also if you hav a bunch of stuff that hangs from the keys try removing that stuff and see if it goes away for good. Another note, they do hav a recall (i think) on the lockcylinders on some newr model GA's.

Re: Security!?!?!?!
If you haven't already tried your spare set of keys thry them, maybe the key is worn.

Re: Security!?!?!?!
Here's a thread that is current and sounds the same as your problem.
