Help needed, identifying GTRs

I am creating the pages that will be used to upload pictures of GTRs. These will have links to help people properly identify GTR cars so that they can put in the correct information...

I have the following two pages so far:
www.mclarenfreak.com/gtr_helper.htm
www.mclarenfreak.com/gtr_longtail_helper.htm

The pages are quite big because of all the pictures, so please allow some time to load.

Could you all please look over them and tell me what needs to be changed?

Please put your comments in the following format:

GTR #
------------
Add:

------------
Delete:
eg. 2nd thumbnail is not correct.
------------

Many thanks.

Sorry to inform you F1 Monster, but you have quite a few incorrectly listed, I am busy at the moment, but will get back to you to straighten your list out.

the last pic of #008R is also a longtail, this time in Fina colours;the Zero liveried longtail you have as being #027R is in fact #025R, and the last 2 shots on #020R are actually short-tail GTR's ( )

Hmmm - I had a reply to this but it seems to have vanished with the crash. I finally got to this last night and see some areas for improvement. I'll put together my thoughts again tonight.

Re: Help needed, identifying GTRs

OK, Had a look at your pics again, there are ten incorrect pics on the first page that I have identified. As follows,

#04R All four pics, the two West and two papaya are 08R.

#08R The 2nd pic is a long tail,

#13R The 2nd pic here is also a longtail,

#14R 2nd and 3rd pics are 04R.

#15R Marlboro shot used again?. bottom row, middle pic is a 95 Gulf car.

(Then again, I may even be wrong!!)

I admire your efforts, in getting this web site together. It must be an enormous challenge. With the the help of everybody here on this forum, it should make your task a little easier.

2nd page tomorrow.

Interesting you say that. There has always been some debate on which GTR wore the Adrenaline livery, but previously someone told us here that it was #04R. The search feature doesn't work as well as it used to, so it might take me a while to find that post.

Re: Help needed, identifying GTRs

F1 Monster, Will post the Evo article sometime over the weekend. Also I have now sourced some video to pc equipment, so when I have sussed out how to use it. You will then be able to view all of the McLaren content I have on VHS.(there,s lots of it)

Have not sorted the longtail pics yet, but I will asap.

BMW V12, The technical similarities between the west adrenaline car and the Bahrain papaya 95 gtr, Makes me feel 99.9% sure, that they are one of the same gtr. If anybody knows different, please feel free to correct me.

I was certain that it was the same car as well. We just had the chassis number wrong.

This thread contains our original discussion on the Bahrain GTR. Try to ignore the bickering.

McLaren F1 GTR in Bahrain

At that point, we'd already settled on the Adrenaline car being #04R. I haven't found that particular discussion yet though, but the magazine seems much more credible. Also, now that we know that #08R lived as the FINA Presentation car for a while, it makes sense that it could have also morphed into the Adrenaline car.

Re: Help needed, identifying GTRs

A F.O.T.P. sent me these links with previous discussions on the Adrenaline car including the one where someone made a good, albeit seemingly inaccurate case (now) for that being GTR #04R.

09R and Hitotsuyama solved...

So whats the story with this mclaren

Re: Help needed, identifying GTRs

Here is the EVO article as promised, Finally worked out how to use the digital camera. Once open in Imageshack, Click again, Text should be nice and clear.

Interesting reading the old threads Eric, Same guy, Quoted #04R as having crashed at 3rd round Monza 95. Try 4th round Jarama (Spain), Lindsay Owen-Jones crashing and rolling his car heavily on thursday free practice.
