WIP Ferrari "Race Tuned" 612 Scagleitti--another one by me

Hi guys, its another 612, but this time its different. I was going to make the NOVITEC version but i decided to make something better.

Right now its about 60% complete. i just need my interior finished, put the exhust tips on, put the rear diffuser on, put the front lip on, but the spoiler on, and i am gonna be done.

The color is italian red. the wheels are from the Skyline GT-R, brakes are from supra and skyline, the wing will be scratch, front lip and rear diff will be from styrene and a few more that i cant name lol

well here are some of the progress pics. ENJOY!

I like it.. I like it a lot. Just 1 point. Don't do panellines with black. Only when you have a really dark colour you can use black. Just use a colour that is a few shades darker. Example with this colour italian red, i would use humbrol 73 wine. It's a bordeaux colour. And because it's an enamel you don't have to worry about ruining you're paint job and if you thin it enough it wil flwo really nicely into the panellines)

Don't get me wrong, it's a very very nice idea and execution, the rims look nice and racey, the engine looks like a million bucks in there...
Paint is toppie too!

But there s just two or three things that can be made better, one of those is the cartoony panellines in there...

Next time, try to use Wouter's tip or just put the black panellines under the last paint-colour-coat.

Then, there seems to be some color difference (might be the pic) with the body and the lower part that is the chassis... they don't seem the same red...

And maybe (it's not too late) try to make the black trims around the windows (in particular the front) a bit more wide, might have a nicer look.

But on the whole a very nice effort and it does look nice and mean with those rims and that paint!

thanx! yea the panellines are a bit cartoony.......
you are correct, the chassis are a bit different color because i used white primer on the bottom and grey primer for the body so it is a bit different colored..... (i didnt have enough white primer to do the body so i had to switch.....)

Hi,

I agree with wouter 1981 and bigfrit concerning the panel lines and black on the windows. Futher the rear wheels are too close to the wheel wells in the rear, the fronts are at their top heading too much towards the middle of the car

Lovely work mate! as far as the panel lines i dont think theres a right or wrong. I personally like black panel lines since it gives a model nice crisp definition.

My take on panel lines is this. Go outside on a sunny day and stand 10 feet away from a car look then look at the gaps between the doors or where ever there are gaps between panels. The shadows in the panel gaps makes it look like its a black line. I think what people often mistake black panel lines being too cartoony is due to the thickness of how the panel line detail is applied on a model.

Nice job, I like the paint job. The camber looks a bit extreme tho!
