Angry Why no more Classic and Street in 1/24??

Hi Friends

I have a question for you:
Have you seen that in the last years the biggest models factories(Revell Tamiya Fujimi etc) don't make more Classic or Street cars of end 90 or 2000 years???In 80s and first 90s they made great cars(M3 E36-M5 E34 Audi 90 VW Golf III-IV-Mercedes E55 AMG) but now they make only great cars like Ferrari or Lambo or Porsche not more.

I'd like to see in 1/24 plastic RS4-RS6 R32 M3 E46 M5 E39 new AMG and I think it would be also a your desire right?

We have to send a lot of email to factory and tell new proposal for the future because they made always same cars and I have to buy great glory of 90s.My last purchase is an Alpina E36

Liscensing, marketing and sales. A company isn't going to risk spending alot of $ on a liscense if they don't know how it will sell because they don't know how to test market a product. In other words..they just don't listen to us...but yea..I dunno either

I know why. They don't make it, because it won't sell well, if at all.

hold on, let's see,
in the 80s, the model makers produced cars like the Audi quattro, golf mk3, MB 190, E30 M3, Supra MK1 etc.
in the 90s we saw the E36 M3, CLKs, lots of japanese cars (supra, R33, 300ZXs, NSX etc etc).
and now we have models of ferrari 360, 430, enzo, carrera gt, 350Z.

am i the only one to spot the simple pattern?

When MPC Was Still Around,They Would Do A Kit Of Any & Every Car They Could
(Check E-Bay For MPC Models,You Will See What I Mean!)
I Myself Perfer To Build "Latemodel" Cars & Trucks But It's Getting Slim,
Take a Look A The Promo Market.In The Late 80's Earley 90's There Was
10-15 New Promo Models A Year,Now Only A Few Vettes.
And I Still Haven't Seen A C6 Promo Yet

I was going to say that after the late 90's the true spirit of the European sportscar was dead (ecepting perhaps some exotics), as everything from then on was just another soulless lookalike 'luxury performance coupe/sedan', and nothing was really worth making a model of. But I expect evo8owner's answer is probably the more accurate one. Remember, this was the era that even the 'distinctive sound of Harley Davidson motorcycles' was copywritten and licensed. There's not sufficient profit margin in plastic kits to justify the licensing fee, and the copywrite holders don't give a damn if no plastic kits are made of their car, especially when diecast manufacturers are willing to pay the tributes.
