Minor Deer Damage, need idea for fixing
My wife had a deer run into the side of our 2001 Dodge Caravan on the way home tonight. It hit on the passenger side front fender and door jamb. It left a small dent in the fender which makes the door not open all the way out. I can open the door if I pry the fender out with a screwdriver but the fender pops right back in again. I was planning on unbolting the fender and seeing if there is a bracket or something I could straighten out.
Does anyone have any tips or experience with this type of thing? PS. Please don't tell me to take it to a body shop, I'm going to try and fix it myself. Thanks for the Help |

Re: Minor Deer Damage, need idea for fixing
I suggest using an L shaped tool to slide it in behind the fender and pulling straight out, or maybe they make an adapter for a slide hammer? if you are not going to have it repainted, I would just rip, pry, pull it out any way you can to make it work right and safe if anyone has to exit the vehicle fast.

Re: Minor Deer Damage, need idea for fixing
Buy a Haynes or Chiltons manual and it should tell you step by step what has to be disconnected to remove the fender. I cant say what all has to be removed, it may be very simple or there may be a lot to it. Sorry I cant be more helpful, again I would buy the book and see what it says. They are only around 20 bucks and a good investment for do it yourself'ers
