Unhappy 72 280 sel Help

Hi, 1972 sel 4.5, Could anyone steer me to an online manual or tell me where and which one is the fuel pump relay location. I'm trying to help friend to get it started after leaving her on expressway yesterday. The fuse is good and the pump runs when jumped. Thank you. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 72 280 sel Help

Being a euro car I can't be sure but look next to the firewall. Look for a black box about the size of a pack of cigarettes with something like "6 ZYL" or "6 Zylinder" printed on it. However, I may be in the wrong era and the relay may look completely different.

Look next to the firewall, It should be in location to like the middle of the windsheild.. It should have written on the top, 6 zylinder.. If you are ever in need of a manual.. Check out ebay motors, they sell the cd's on there all the time.. If you cannot locate the relay piece, just call this # 201-476-6200.. This is a mercedes tech support hotline, I know this number and use it often..
