Wow!!! I really hate my Dodge

Hey, i just need a problem diagnosis. I was accelerating and at about 3000 rpm when the car should have shifted from 1st, there was a loud noise.. kinda like a loud zipper, but im not sure cuz my music was up loud. anyway, after that it kinda sat at 3000 for a split second and i immediately let go of the gas and when i applied pressure again, there was a rattling sound kind of like marbles in a coffee can. Then, the car immediately died. The car also will not start back up again. when i turn the ignition, there is just a single click...nothing else. Prognosis or diagnosis ppl?

that's a new one, try having a compression test done on your motor, hopefully you haven't blown your engine.

blown motor???? r u serious??? its only got 87k. moderate acceleration blows intrepids?? that sucks. Wut makes engines blow?????

well, if you have the 2.7, they have had engine failures due to restrictions in the lubrication system. I'm not saying that's the problem it's 50/50, but I'd check your compressions, make sure nothing is uneven and out of the ordinary.
