keyless entry conversion??

I have a 2000 cherokee that was totalled out and I purchased a 2001 limited. Surprise to me, they discontinued keyless entry systems on 2001 models, so when I tried to transfer the evs II security system over, the alarm works but it won't operate my locks. Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer the keyless entry system from a 2000 to a 2001 and how to do it. I know its a long shot but anyone with any info let me know. Thanks, aaron

Re: keyless entry conversion??

you maybe better off buying a remote start with the keyless entry feature.

Eureka!!

I solved my own puzzle and I'll let you all in on the trick. After scouring the internet, I found that the circuit board for the keyless entry is in the dome light. Unscrew that, and take the circuit board out and do a switcharoo with the circuit board in the new jeep. Whalah! Keyless entry works, as does the alarm. Saved myself and possibly someone else $200. -aaron
