Would this be the right turbo?

I am not looking for anything big, yet. I just want something to learn with for now. But I have been reading through the custom turbo pages, and have seen what they use. Most say a DSM T25 turbo works great. Well, I bid on this turbo here. That one should work right? I think it will, and it looks like it will. So any insight would be great.

I have two of those, haven't been able to use it yet but it should work alright. I haven't found correct wheel measurments for it yet but I'm really interested to know how it compares to a T-25. You can expect fast spool up but someone what limited power in upper RMP, It was built for a dodge. When I was first looking at mine I was like "this thing kinda sucks huh!?" but I'm in the same boat as you, just want something to work smoothly and give a little extra kick. Its not like I'm stuck with this thing for life...there will be others What manifold are you gonna use?

Cool deal. I guess I will get it to see.

I am looking around for a Hf manifold to see how that will work. Since it's so cheap, it can be a learning process for bigger and better.

it should work beautifully. might take a little custom rigging to get it in right (ive never installed a mitsu) but it will give you some nice power. should spool up real fast too..like 2200rpms, maybe less.

it should be good for around 12-15psi. i know the TD05 gives around 20

I've got a HF manifold too. I didn't really wanna go that route, rather use a std manifold, or a real turbo manifold, but they are to expensive. Either way I'd have to get an adapter plate. it'll be a while before I get mine put on, but I've come up with a good adapter designe. Have you talked to any machine shops? If we could sorta get a "group buy" going on, we might be able so save some money.

what is an HF manifold?

and here is how i feel about the T-2small. IT SUCKS. the factory turbo'd eclipses come with in the 95-99 years. Think to yourself, why does evey one with an eclipse want to change the out the turbo? it has absolutly NO top end. it will spool up quick but thats it. I have the Super 16g, and it hits 5psi before 3 grand and it has great top end and it is good for 12 second 1/4 mile times.

If you don't mind the lack of top end then get it. but you may as well get something better then have to buy another turbo later.

but remember, it is your choice, and only yours, don't let someone else infulence you about it. also you should check out some dsm sites and learn a little more about the turbo.

were not using the t-25, were using the TEO4H. I said I was interested in knowing how it compared to the T-25 'cause there is a lack of info on the 4H and it is similar to the T-25, and yes I know the T-25 sucks.

You can't compare how a turbo will work on 2 very different motors. The DSM motor is a 2.0 and the Hondas are 1.6. I have a T-25 on my ZC powered Civic and I am putting 160 HP and 152 TQ at the wheels. That was at 6lbs of boost. As soon as I get my boost controller I will be taking it up to 10lbs. Not bad for a bunch of homeade and junkyard parts.:sun:

The T-25 is an ok turbo but not really worth the time or money. Just go ahead and get a 14b tdo5. The T-25 is good but way to small you will get tired of it quick. Plus with the 14b you can run up to 20 psi of boost where as the t-25 I wouldnt take over 8 or so.

I made the mistake of putting a stock cluch in my car when I did the ZC swap. I can tell you 160 HP on a stock clutch is not a good idea. I just got a CM stage 2 and have to get that installed before I take it to the track. The T-25 on my car runs at 6lbs with the stock acuater. I just installed a boost controller and now I am running 10lbs. I am going to get back on the dyno to see how much more power I have at 10 lbs. Don't let people tell you the T25 can't make any power. They work just fine.

PS 20lbs?? how many of you guys have a motor that will take 20lbs
