Malibu, defective brake problems?

I am considering buying Malibu between the yrs. '00 to '03.
I have read that they are known for replacing the brakes far too often.
Has anyone had any experience with that problem?

Thank you,
Clyde Howell

Re: Malibu, defective brake problems?

My 01 Malibu went through a couple of sets of pads and rotors in 40k miles. The pedal would start to pulsate after about 10k miles. I have had Semi-Metalic pads on now for 15k+ miles with no problems at all. The stock Ceramic pads were the culprit, they look good on paper but hold to much heat for day to day driving. The Semi-Metalics on stock rotors are the way to go.
