Question Never get points on your license again?

I recently heard of a way to "beat the system" so to speak allowing you to never get points on your license. It goes something like this: Say you get a speeding ticket for $75. Plead guilty, and send a check for say $78. In the mail you will get a letter saying you paid too much and a check for the overpaid $3. The key is, you never cash the check. The computer sees that it was paid so they dont come after you, however points aren't given until all transactions are completed. Therefore, no points. What I was wondering is, does this sounds reasonable has anyone tried this?

Re: Never get points on your license again?

I think it's more of an urban legend. Everybody has heard of it before, but I don't know anybody ever having a story of it working for them.

points are assesed as soon as the ticket is issued. they only way for them to be removed is over time or by taking a BDI course (or at least in florida).

Re: Never get points on your license again?

no the points are only added when you are found guilty. the overpayment thing doesnt work. they send you a check and the transaction is over they dont care if you cash it or not. after 90 or 120 days the check is void it says that on most company checks.
