Re: how to remove radio from honda civic lx 2000

really it should entaile a little bit of prying of some plastic peace. i do not believe there are any screw attached to the radio itself but there may be some atteched to the plastic peaces. depends how much you want to tear out.
once they plastic is off, you just be able to pull it out (which is a good way to prevent pregnacy but is never 100% safe)

Basically you start unscrewing all the screws you see around the center console area... there will be some clips, but once the screws are out, they pop out easy.. the A/C-Radio console itself is held in by several screws on the bottom and the side that you'll be able to see once you have the plastic trim off.... the black trim around the A/C-Radio console is all one piece that will come out with everything else once you get the radio and A/c stuff un-screwed.
The screws you'll need to take out are usually marked with a little bit of pink paint on top of them... don't ask me why, but I've come across this on 3 different Civics.
Unplug the A/C stuff, radio plugs, ect... two screws hold the stock radio in on either side.. you can even re-use these screw points to put your new radio in (on most aftermarket radios) instead of using the mounting bracket that comes with the radio. Using the bracket that comes with your radio though is what I recommend, because if you've never installed a radio before, you're probably going to have to take the radio in and out several times before you get it just right... if you screw into those stock mounting holes, you have to wait until you know the radio works before putting everything back together.
That's about it though...

One main thing to remember..... everything comes apart easy... nothing should need to be forced... if you feel the need to force it, there's probably another screw you need to take out from somewhere.
