Unhappy 1994 BMW 325i or 1999 Chrysler 300M what should I get??

Hello,

I am a 15 year old Sophomore and I am searching for a good used car and I am wondering if I should get a 1994-1995 325i or a 1999 Chrysler 300M? Any advice appreciated. I like the Chrysler because of its size and looks, but I love the 325i's sportiness and prestige. But, I don't know what to chose!!

Thanks for listening!

Back in '99 I was trying to decide between a new 330 and a 300M. I bought the 300M because the BMW was more expensive, the stats seemed similar (HP and stuff), and the BMW dealership was kind of arrogant. It's been a good car, for the most part, but they are very different. As it turns out, the stats were a little misleading and they definitely didn't factor in "Fun to Drive". Long story short, it left me wanting so I finally broke down (yesterday) and bought a 2004 M3 to replace the Chrysler.

Yeah, I think thats what I'm going to do. I am going to get the 300M and then when I get more money, I will buy a newer, larger BMW that has more room than the 325i. The 300M just has some much features for the money, that I just can't turn it down.

I have both, the 94 325i and the 99 300M... the 300 is a nice car and it does move good for it size.. but it is nowere near the power I get out of the 5 sp BMW... why would you need a big ass car like that..

Well, the 300M is large, but I live out on a gravel road and we live by a quarry and I live in a rural town. I would think that the 300M would have better traction since its large and has standard traction control. The BMW is rear wheel drive traction control is not standard plus it is small.

if you are looking at the 325i auto. and not the 5sp the traction control is standerd. With a set of snows this car goes everywhere the 300 goes and the gas per mi. the 325 gets about 28 - 29 the 300 gets about 22 the 325 will last for over 250,000 mi.. I don't think the 300 could touch that.. My 325 is almost at 250,000 now, it is 249 something.. I know it will out last the chrysler...

p.s: but parts will be expensive ...no....i mean really expensive comparing with domestic cars.......so think of it 2......but hopefully they last longer(i mean parts and a car itself)

Do some research on here on both cars and see what can and does go wrong on them. The 300 is not as bad as say an Intrepid, but still has timing belt issues after 100K and Chrysler has other issues as well. That being said insurance would most likely be cheaper on the 300 and everyday maintance should be cheaper on the 300. There are plenty of posts pn both cars on here. My son has a 318i that so far has had heater/ac problems but turned out to be a reasonable fix. He pays more insurance for it but gas mileage and the driveabilty were worth it to him.
