Torque Converter Clicking?

'90 4.0 automatic. Alright, Im just updating to some recommendations made. I have a clicking or knocking sound coming from right near the rear main seal that leaks. As recommended, I took off the access cover (shim) to the tranny. No loose bolts at the flywheel (flexplate?). Not loose. The noise seems to really happen after I have been driving for a while and happens in gear as well as park (but most noticably in park). Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot guys.

By the way, I don't know if its related, but about 1/2 the time now I have to put it in N to start. This started at the same time as the noise, just after replacing a new starter.
