how to reset the ecu?

I have heard of this being performed aftercertain changes have been made to the vehicle and sometimes yeilds positive results. does anyone know how to reset the ecu on a 96' xj sport to default settings?

Since that is a year that they used the OBDII onboard you are going to have to go to a Autozone or such place where they hook up the scanner and reset it for free.


Disconnecting the battery cable wont work on 95 and up vehicles.
