Gasoline.... ouch

What does your Accord get for gas milage and what do you think gas prices will get to in the next year?

i get about 26 MPG and gas seems to be getting really pricy... in CO, it's pretty cheap from other places from what i hear, it's about $ 2.07 per gallon.

Re: Gasoline.... ouch

I think we're at 2.09 a gallon and we get mid to high 20's. Don't know the exact number because there is no gauge that tells me unlike the olds that I drive.

Whumbachumba - why not just calculate from one (complete) tankful to the next? That's going to be pretty accurate.

Re: Gasoline.... ouch

usually I get 20 mpg but sometimes less than that - on the highway i get about 23. I changed the oil and cleaned out the fuel system, maybe it needs a major tuneup. The gas mileage makes me miss my civic

Well, it's not my car yet, so I'll have to wait till I can do that. The only reason I know the olds mpg is because everything on it is digital and has sensors up the whazoo.

Should be higher

I just got 29.3 mpg on a trip with speeds mostly around 70mph. You can get great milage with an accord if you just keep it tuned and right.
When I first got mine it was around 26. A tune up/auto-rx/injection clean up with techron/transmission fluid flush and Mobil 1 synthetic oil gets me up close to 30 now. Give it a try. And use Honda or NSK plugs.
It is a 97 LX 4 cyl automatic.
