99' escort jerks-transmission?

I just bought a 99' escort from a friend. It jerks every once in a while while I'm driving at normal speed (only for like 3 seconds and then everything is back to normal). Not really a big deal. It probably did it like once or twice throughout the day. Anyway I took it to get the transmission fluid changed today and now it is doing it a lot more often. Does anyone know what the problem might be and if changing the tranmission fluid just made it worse? Thanks for any help!!!

start with tune up sounds like a plug wire is arcing. as far as the tranny bring it back to the shop and have them recheck.

Thank you....I took it for a tune up and that was the problem. They also had to clean the fuel injectors. Thanks again!
