Knocking noise when hitting breaks
Alright, you guys where so helpful last time, i figured i'd throw ya another question about my 94 dodge intrepid. Alot of the time's when i hit my breaks, i'm getting this knocking noise from my front end. Now it dosn't happen all the time, but more than never if ya know what i mean. Anyone able to help?

you could have bad CV joints are a worn strut bushing. Does it sound like it's coming from both sides or just one side?

I had a problem similar to that. In my case, it was the brake caliper.
One brake caliper had a mounting bolt loose. The loud "click" would happen every time after the following sequence of events: 1) Backing up, and using the brakes to stop. 2) Then going forward again, and using the brakes to stop.. It only did it the first time I rolled back forward and used the brakes hard enough to make the caliper housing slide within the 1~2mm area between the side of the mounting bolt and the inside of the mounting hole in the caliper housing. The "clicking" was the sound of the insides of the mounting hole slamming against the side of the mounting bolt. It would also make the "click" when using the brakes rolling backward, but it was not nearly as loud as when I rolled back forward. Have someone that knows about brakes take a look at it. A mechanic should probably re-torque the caliper mounting bolts, rather than trying to do it yourself. These damn Chryslers (Dodges) are built to such close tolerances that over-tightening the bolt may result in premature failure (bolt could shear off under load). Not at all like my old Dodge Charger. If this "clicking" has been going on for a long time the bolt is probably already stressed, and just waiting to break. The constant slamming back & forth against the bolt is causing abnormal stress to the bolt where it screws into the hub. If it turns out to be a loose caliper bolt then I would suggest having a mechanic replace all the bolts in that caliper, instead of just tightening down the loose one.
