Went out? Can you post more info as to why it went; how many miles - just curious.

A 350 Chevy in a 5#K truck - man I bet that thing could haul a$$!

I've had a few 350 chevy's one in a 3/4 ton; other in a 1/2 ton - they are good engines, a little too light-weight power wise for a 3/4 ton. But that'd be cool in a Rodeo.

Never heard of it though - knocking on wood for a long time to come yet, I'm still on original equipment.

You can do anything with time, tools and money. Having enough of each is the key.

But, FYI, a small block Ford is smaller physically. A 302 would prolly fit nicer or maybe even a 351W if the extra few inches in deck height would clear the hood. Next task would be to find a trans adapter or make one. You'd prolly have to fab some motor mounts.

the engine had a tacking noise for a long time with low oil pressure. it was my wifes car. it finally spun a rod, started knocking really loud. tried to find one locally, but could not. tried a company out of florida, they sent me a bad engine and i still had to pay shipping fees. im kinda a chevy guy myself, but if i went with a ford could i go with a ford trans

I believe a chevy V6 will match up with the 95 tranny.
