I have a Valentine 1 detector. Expensive (~$400) but the best on the planet. No problems with XM and this detector. You might have a unit that is prone to interference.

How does the valentine compare to the new passport. I know a few years ago the valentine won in a head to head in Car in Driver magazine. Does your valentine still work well?

Works very well...wouldn't drive without it. Don't knnow how the new passport stacks up. The V1 has front/rear detectors and threat count. Nice if the law decides to beam you from under one of those roadside radar things that show you your speed. A number "2" shows up letting you know multiple sources
