Unhappy '93 Heater Core

My heater core has been going out for some time. -film on interior windows, headaches after longer drives- I have a couple of buddies that are mechanics & they have offered to help. I'm guessing I have to pull the dash to get to the Core. Does anyone know or done this before? Thanks

Re: '93 Heater Core

yeah, unfortunately, the dash has to come out to access the heater core. If you have A/C, go on and get it discharged b/c the evaporator and heater core are in the same housing that'll have to come out once that dash is out; your truck is not that bad; there's only 8 screws that hold it in place, after you have lowered the steering wheel and disconnected every electrical connector known to man behind the dash.
