92 TC : Starter fails to turn.
I recently got saddled with trying to fix a friend's 92 town car.
The problem it's having is that when you turn the key, the starter doesn't turn, or even click. All the internal lights and power are working properly, and I had the battery checked. They mentioned that they had a factory alarm installed (dont know whether this was a ford OEM or something aftermarket they put in) and that they had they keychain stolen for it. I was thinking that it might have been possible that the alarm had flaked out and disabled the starter. I looked around under the drivers side dash and was unable to find any alarm system, so Im looking for other suggestions or if the alarm theory is the right route, where would I find the alarm system? Thanks in advance. |

This may sound stupid, but I had a 1992 TC that did the same thing. All I needed to do was push the eletrical connector on the starter so it fit snug. It must have vibrated off. Also, on my 1994 TC I had to do the same thing. Check it out. I could be wrong, but if I'm right, it's an easy and free fix.
