02 Headlight Replacement
Can anyone enlighten me on the easiest way to get to the bulb for the driver's side headlight? It just went out and I popped the hood for a look. It looked like some serious disassembly to get at the bulb so I figured I must be missing something.

If it is anything like my 2000 Silverado it is eeeaaasssyyy. With the hood open look at the headlight assembly at the top you should see two pins on each outside edge. They are approx 1/4" diameter and have a 90 degree bend at the top that snaps into clips. All you have to do is pull outwards on these pins to unhook them then pull straight up to remove the pins. Then it is as simple as pulling the headlight assembly outwards but becareful to not pull too hard cause there might not be that much slack in the wiring to the bulbs. Then it is just a matter of disconnecting the plugs for the bulbs and replacing the bulb and reversing the process. It may take a bit of wiggling to get the headlight assembly out, but it does come.

Guys thanks!
It truly is as easy as you described. I popped out the bad light (see note below) and plan on picking up a replacement tomorrow. Note: I'll be interested to see a new bulb, because this one doesn't look burnt. The filament is still in place. I may, as an experiment, move the bulb from the passenger side over just to make sure it's the bulb and not another problem....
