Finally Got off my Ass
I got bored today, being on christmas break and all. So i went down to the closes S&S and got a new 9v battery for my dB meter.
I recalibrated it then got out a Test CD and a few rap CD's, went out inthe back yard and hooked up thoes 2 audiobahns. Here is the wrap sheet. With Out Voltometer (Estimated Power Input 200w): 20Hz*1m: 83dB 30Hz*1m: 85dB 40Hz*1m: 86dB 50Hz*1m: 86dB 20-80Hz Sweep*1m: Average-84dB Peak-87dB Lil John & East Side Boys "Get Low": Peak 86dB Outkast Remix "Whistle While you Trurk": Peak 87dB Lil John + Many Others Including Ludacris "Damn" Remix: Peak 86.5dB Note: This is in a Semi-infinite acoustical environment. You dont actually get the rated sensitivity of a woofer in most cases. especially when it is audiobahn... With Voltometer (192w Maximum avalable input at given load, 1ohm) 20Hz*1m: 82.5dB 30Hz*1m: 84dB 40Hz*1m: 85.5dB 50Hz*1m: 86dB 20-80Hz Sweep*1m: Average-83.5dB Peak-86dB Lil John & East Side Boys "Get Low": Peak 86dB Outkast Remix "Whistle While you Trurk": Peak 86.5dB Lil John + Many Others Including Ludacris "Damn" Remix: Peak 87dB Then hauled this 75lb acoustical POS inside into my room and ran the same testsin different locations here it goes (mid you this room is 12ft*13ft*8ft walls and 11ft peak. even with the space occupied by my bed, armuar (which it gets surprisingly loud inside that armuar) dresser, TV and other stereo equiptment it is far surpassed that of hte volum of a car. your could easily tack on at least 3dB at least in each of these tests for your average car. @1m 192w Maximum Avalable input 20Hz: 88dB 30Hz: 92dB 40Hz: 93dB 50Hz: 93.5dB 20-80Hz Sweep: Average-91dB Peak-94dB Lil John & East Side Boys "Get Low": Peak 92dB Outkast Remix "Whistle While you Trurk": Peak 93dB Lil John + Many Others Including Ludacris "Damn" Remix: Peak 91dB External Port Measurements (same 192w avalable input for the rest of this data) 20Hz: 110dB 30Hz: 113dB 40Hz: 115dB 50Hz: 115.5dB 20-80Hz Sweep: Average-113.5dB Peak-117dB Lil John & East Side Boys "Get Low": Peak 115dB Outkast Remix "Whistle While you Trurk": Peak 114.5dB Lil John + Many Others Including Ludacris "Damn" Remix: Peak 115dB Corner Of The Room (greatest pressure increses and standing waves) 20Hz: 109dB 30Hz: 111dB 40Hz: 114dB 50Hz: 115dB 20-80Hz Sweep: Average-111dB Peak-114.5dB Lil John & East Side Boys "Get Low": Peak 115dB Outkast Remix "Whistle While you Trurk": Peak 113.5dB Lil John + Many Others Including Ludacris "Damn" Remix: Peak 114dB Aprox. Center of Room 20Hz: 87dB 30Hz: 91.5dB 40Hz: 92dB 50Hz: 93dB 20-80Hz Sweep: Average-90dB Peak-92.5dB Lil John & East Side Boys "Get Low": Peak 92dB Outkast Remix "Whistle While you Trurk": Peak 93dB Lil John + Many Others Including Ludacris "Damn" Remix: Peak 92dB I was going to test Punk Noise and Brown Noise but i cant stand either at high volumes. so... Not to shabby for 2 weak audiobahns. id like to think it was mostly my expert enclosure building...lol. well it had to be beause i think most of you have seen some of the specs from when they where in 2 small sealed enclsoures and it was no where near this i do beleive. anyway contact me if you are interested in purchasing these woofers. at the moment it is jsut primed white. i am willing to fiberglass, finish painting w/e color you want, or carpet the enclosure for a nominal fee. Right now i am at 235 OBO as is. we can work out the extra cost if you would like a it glassed or painted etc.. If you want an idea of the enclosure here are its specs. Note: none of these are defanit. it was over 2 moths ago that i built this enclosure and i lost the spec sheet. im also too lazy to go back on the CAD design and recalculate volume and tuning. 16" W 24" D 36" H 3.2cuft i beleive I think 54sqin port area Tunes to 32Hz Made of 3/4" MDF with MDF and White pine bracing if you want an idea of what it looks like look in my signature. it is a 3.2cuft version of that design. so its almost exactly the same. in fact both enclosures where built at the same time on the same weekend. they even used parts from the same sheeets of MDF so you can say you have a part of my signature. lol. Edit: all of that typeing and i didnt tell what woofers they are. well FYI they are 2 AW1051T's. for thoes of you who dont know they are 10's with a poly molded cone and chrome basket. if you are interested in purchasing it and actually do purchase it i will send one of the manuals (and complemetary sticker that i never used and probably threw away, if i can find it) with the enclosure. oh and you pay shipping, lol. the UPS guy is going to be pissed off having to loat this into his truck. |

Re: Finally Got off my Ass
what exactly were you trying to accomplish?
coming up with a transfer function for your room?

the room gain (for bass) will be nothing like what a typical car will be.
