Best Cheap Sports Car
Well, this is another 1st car thread, and I am looking for something that will just climb trees. I want a unique 4wd that has huge aftermarket. Here are my current considerations:
Rare 80's 'yota pickups that I could kit out. Landcruiser FJ's ( the Wrangler/Cj-5/Cj-7 body styled kind), or Landcruiser truck. Old Willy's 4wd trucks. Int'l Scout truck. Any 4wd's that you personally know off-road exellent, please inform me. I allready have my fuel miser Civic 1.6 L 8V, which has been an exellent car to get me back and forth to school, practice shifting, and I would advise anyone to also choose this as a 1st, but I live in the country, and I am eager to go out and have some weekend fun with my fellow wheelers. |

Re: Best Cheap Sports Car
I think your best chance of getting something cheap will be a Samurai. They are low on power but have a pretty good transfer case and great aftermarket support. You can buy these things with 100k miles for usually under $1000 on ebay.
Otherwise, jeeps are great 4x4s but a little pricey to buy. Others like you mentioned are pricey to buy and parts are more expensive. Not prohibitively so, but your words were "cheap." My word is "Samurai."

What's your budget? That would help us a lot

Re: Best Cheap Sports Car
I like anything GM '87 and before with a 350. You get a very popular engine, solid front axle, and about as much aftermarket support as you could possibly ask for.
