2001 Lumina Coolant Flush

Yeah, I'm planning on doing just that, a coolant flush, It has Dex-cool right now, and I really dont like it. All I know is the reason they put it in there is so it can go high miles without a coolant flush, but if i keep on top of it, I should be able to switch to the green stuff, correct? Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

Re: 2001 Lumina Coolant Flush

just make sure you get all the dex-cool out. Dex-cool becomes VERY caustic as it ages, and will start to sludge up. It doesn't have any silicates in it, which helps keep the cooling system clean, and I recommend to everyone that when it starts to get dark, flush that Dex-Crap, oops, I mean dex-cool out and replace it with the Green stuff.

isnt death-cool, oops, dex-cool the stuff that if an intake gasket ever blows, it eats away at the head? Turning a 50.00 repair into a costly engine rebuild?
