95 gsx clutch help

hey i was looking at a gsx and the guy selling it told me he was driving down the highway and the transmisson blew so what should i do get a trans out of another gsx or can you use a 1g trans or should i just buy new becuase i want to eventually buy a better clutch for it anyways i found a trans for 1200 is it a good deal

$3000 the car only has 60,000 miles and is most stock and the car is in good shape

will the 1g trans fit on a 2g
